Itinerary
Day 1 Itinerary
8:30am - 9:30am
We pick up our guests from the Indian Museum Main Gate close to Park Street Metro Station. The pick-up time is 08:45 am and departure is at 09:00 am. We have a second pick-up point at Science City PC Chandra Garden Gate No. 01 at 9:15 am. Guests may choose either pick-up point.
9:30am - 10:00am
Breakfast is served on the vehicle during the journey. After approximately 3½ hours of driving, we reach Gadkhali (12:30pm - 1:00pm), the last road point before entering the magnificent Sundarbans, where waterways become the primary mode of transport.
12:30pm - 1:00pm
Reach Gadkhali. There are two possible routes to our resort. Guests may either cross to Gosaba Island and continue by local transport to the resort jetty, or take a direct engine boat to the resort. The route will be selected depending on tide conditions and convenience.
1:30pm - 2:00pm
Arrive at Sundarban Beckons Resort on the eco-island of Pakhiralaya. Freshly prepared lunch will be served at the resort.
3:00pm
Enjoy a country boat ride for bird watching through the serene creeks and waterways of the Sundarbans for approximately one to two hours.
6:00pm
Return to the resort after sunset. Relax with hot black tea and freshly fried vegetable pakoras.
7:00pm
Experience an entertaining local tribal dance performance at the resort.
9:30pm - 10:00pm
Dinner will be served at the resort.
Day 2 Itinerary
8:00am
The day begins with an exciting Sundarban Delta boat safari.
8:30am
Start the jungle safari accompanied by a Government-approved tourist guide at Sajnekhali Tiger Reserve.
9:30am
Continue an adventurous boat safari through rivers, islands and creeks including Pirkhali, Banbibi Bharani, Sundarkhali, Khonakhali, Choragaji, Gazikhali and Sudhanyakhali Watch Tower. Wildlife sightings may include spotted deer, crocodiles, wild boar, monitor lizards, snakes, numerous bird species and, if fortunate, the Royal Bengal Tiger.
12:30pm
Visit Do-Banki Tiger Reserve Area and Watch Tower. Experience the famous 896-meter canopy walk that offers excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing.
1:30pm
Visit Panchamukhani, the spectacular junction where five rivers meet.
5:00pm
After an unforgettable Sundarban National Park safari, return to Pakhiralaya.
9:30pm - 10:00pm
Dinner will be served at the resort.
Day 3 Itinerary
7:00am
Enjoy a morning village walk to photograph sunrise, mangroves, local life and birds. Early risers can visit the beautiful lily pond filled with thousands of blooming lilies.
11:00am - 11:30am
Early lunch at the resort followed by check-out. Visit the historic Rabindranath Tagore Bungalow and Hamilton Bungalow by local transport.
1:00pm
Reach Godkhali and board the vehicle for the return journey to Kolkata.
4:30pm - 5:00pm
Arrive in Kolkata with wonderful memories of your Sundarban adventure.
